Amparo invites you to attend a free introductory Zoom session, to learn about the kind of support suicide liaison workers can offer to those affected by suicide.
Amparo means ‘shelter’ or ‘safe haven’ in Spanish. The organisation offers a free, easy-to-access service and referrals can be made by anyone. The team works with and encourages referrals from emergency support services, coroners, the NHS and other local support agencies. They also accept self-referrals and aim to make contact with all referrals within 24 hours.
Locally-based suicide liaison workers work with beneficiaries, helping them with practical issues arising from suicide, and ensuring that they are linked into local support networks. Support is offered for as long as it’s required, up to and beyond an inquest.
